| Fiona Bengtsen, who has complemented us on the comprehensive nature of our web site, is a Cambridge educated historian who edits an e-journal called “The History Gateway”. The publisher of the journal is A. A. Foster. We are pleased to help publicise this useful and informative venture which will be of interest to all students of history. Recently the e-journal included an article on the discovery of wall art in the caves at Cresswell Crags in Derbyshire. Until recently it was thought that Britain did not have early cave art such as has been found in France and Spain. This news is also included here by the BBC. |

I also wish to recommend two email newsletters which might meet the needs of our visitors. |

A. A. Foster writes: |
| “Now in its sixth year, The History Gateway is an e-journal which is published solely and exclusively on the Internet for history and archaeological societies, archaeologists, historians, academics, archivists, researchers, students and anyone interested in topics of History or Archaeology. Updated twice monthly, the History Gateway carries an editorial on a topical aspect of history or archaeology. It also features previews of coming TV programmes, spotlighting some of the more interesting or unusual ones. |
|
Apart from the editorial, “The History Gateway” provides hyperlinks to enable access to its vast archives. Thus there are links for history on television, history related web sites, premier history organisations, specialist and regional organisations and Who’s Who in History Studies. There are also e-reviews, articles and publications plus active research projects with access to previous editorials.” |
